The Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Okey Emuchay, has expressed delight over appointing Kingsley Moghalu, former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Kingsley Moghalu, as the President of the African School of Governance, ASG.According to Emuchay: “The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide received with immense delight the appointment of one of our best and brightest, a development economist, a reflective scholar of world renown, astute bureaucrat, the game changer, legal luminary, robust and creative thinker, Professor Kingsley Moghalu (OON) as the President of the African School of Governance (ASG).
“The appointment of Moghalu as the President of such a unique institution did not come to us as a surprise because of his robust intellect, requisite qualifications, global exposure, cognate experience, and social skills.
“The vision of the AGS, amongst others, is to develop a new generation of purpose-driven leaders with the skills and mindsets to help Africa address the challenges of the 21st century; offer world-class public policy education, research, and engagement programs; and to transform the continent’s leadership landscape by meeting the diverse needs of leaders across Africa, etc.“Moghalu has served in several agencies of the United Nations: World Health Organization; United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD); Sogato Strategies S.A.; Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM); Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria; Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); Kuala Lumpur-based Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI); Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, amongst others.
“In each of the above organizations, he demonstrated remarkable skills, exceptional diligence, elegance, and panache. But the most endearing of the Moghalu persona is that at a period when most mundane public officers are absorbed in a rat race for illicit acquisition of wealth, he left the above offices with neither blemish nor tarnish.
“Therefore, there is no gainsaying that the African School of Governance (ASG) has made the best choice in Professor Kinsley Moghalu.
“While wishing Professor Kingsley Moghalu a successful and eventful tenure as the President of ASG, we are delighted that his disruptive intellect has found a broader expression in lifting Africa from its diverse deleterious scourges.”
