The governor of Ogun state Dapo Abiodun has emerged as the chairman of the Southern governor’s forum. He is replacing the late governor of Ondo state Rotimi Akeredolu as is viced by the governor of Anambra state. Take a look at the 3 strong promise , he made on his acceptance speech.
Giving his acceptance speech after the meeting which lasted for over five hours, Governor Abiodun pledged not to betray the confidence reposed in him and his vice by their colleagues.
I am presently in Abeokuta, Ogun State, for a meeting with fellow governors from the Southern Governors Forum to discuss issues impacting our region and Nigeria as a whole.
Governor Abiodun is replacing the former governor of Ondo State, the late Rotimi Aketedolu, and is expected to give the necessary leadership for the growth and development of the region.
The letter was submitted by the chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum and the Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwoolu after the forum’s meeting at the Presidential Lodge in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Monday.
Sixteen out of the 17 governors that constituted the Southern Governors Forum attended the meeting with only Rivers State Governor, Similayi Fubara, absent at the meeting.
While some governors, were physically present at the meeting, some were represented by their deputies.
The governors that attended the meetin tog include Babajide Sanwoolu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Alex Otti (Abia), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Bassey Otu (Cross River).
Other governors in attendance, were Charles Soludo (Anambra), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi),
Peter Mbah (Enugu), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa) and Uno Eno (Akwa Ibom
